A 43-square-meter apartment, following smart planning and renovation, in the Bonafim neighborhood of Porto.
Services included: Property search, assistance with the purchase process, renovation planning, interior design, and property rental management.
When we first entered the property, it was a small, cramped apartment with a suboptimal layout: a closed-off bedroom, a long, narrow living room, and a small balcony with no clear purpose.
The main challenge of the project was to maximize the potential of the limited space and create a sense of spaciousness, comfort, and functionality—without increasing the apartment’s square footage.
As part of the project: • We partially opened up the space to create a sense of spaciousness • We incorporated lighting and color solutions that enhance the sense of light and openness • We carefully designed smart storage solutions for every corner • We created distinct functional zones (seating, storage, work) within a compact space • We selected functional furniture that allows for dual uses
The result is a small but well-planned apartment that feels much larger, cozier, and more inviting than the original layout. The project demonstrates how proper planning and creative thinking can significantly upgrade a property and increase its value, even when space is limited
